Digital Sports

Digital Sports is a dynamic interactive sports news portal that is quickly establishing itself as the source for local schools and club Sports & Activities throughout the United States.  The site provides its visitors, guests, and users with a single point of access to High School and Club Sports & Activities.  Using a mixture of both professional and user-generated content the website aims to offer communities throughout the country the opportunity to share in the accomplishments of their youth.

The idea behind the website is simple, it aims to ‘recognize’ and ‘congratulate’ the endeavors of the kids that participate in sports, whether as an individual effort or as part of a team.   The organizations ethos is summed up rather nicely with the following quote… “We are guided by a genuine desire to contribute to the community and driven by a firm philosophy to minimize the negative elements of Media and the Internet…”   They don’t fail in doing so!

Other goals of the site is to provide a system that provides a single point of entry for Coaches, Athletic Directors and Team Managers to manage their School, Team and Sports Programs.  This is done by offering a sports program they’ve termed the DigitalSports 360° ™ which is a complete web based management system that allows Athletic Directors and Coaches to manage their entire program that allows administrative and communication based tasks to be managed utilizing a user-friendly system designed to make the task of sports management a whole lot easier.

You can read more about the software designed by Digital Sports by signing up for a free trial of the LeagueMinder package, where you’ll be able to evaluate this software that is designed to help the coach manage just about everything associated with any event, including facility availability, special instructions, transportation arrangements, early dismissal times, to name just a few.  LeagueMinder also enables complete league-wide schedule management, allowing you to create and confirm sporting schedules for an entire league.   A lot of thought has gone into this management software as has the entire community that has been created and that can be seen simply by spending some time browsing the site and reading up on the comprehensive amount of information provided in each area.

The aim of Digital Sports is admirable, they offer the opportunity for any school or club to be able to upload its sporting data to the site allowing it to be shared with other communities, this is something that is certain to grow from strength to strength and is a unique way to recognise the achievements of the budding athlete.   This allowing for a much wider audience to share in the achievements of each sporting endeavor is a definite way to encourage participation which can only be a good thing.   We spent quite some time on one of the featured communities from Maryland as this was at the time of review one of the few that was complete, and demonstrated the awesome potential behind what Digital Sports are offering.  From watching the cross country meet to the road racing  we were engrossed by the level of interactivity displayed.

Digital Sports have clearly taken full advantage of the power of the internet and this is demonstrated throughout the site.   We wouldn’t be doing an honest review if we never mentioned the fact that it still has some way to providing what it wants but this will only be a matter of time, and if you want to help them speed this process up then simply register with the site so that you can start contributing your own content for your community giving it the exposure it would otherwise never benefit from.   Without question  Digital Sports is going to live up to its claim to be ‘the’ source for news and information on school and club level sporting events at both local and national level, we’d encourage you to be part of that community.
