Beauty Express is a very well presented on-line store based in Glasgow, Scotland, providing beauty products for both the seasoned professional and start-up beautician in a wide variety of fields within the beauty market. This review however is concentrating on the areas of the site that its listed in the Cantufind directory, that being Nail Care.

Even though this is pretty much a full service beauty product supplier for the purpose of this review we concentrated on the Nail Care section. The category itself has to be one of the most impressive ones we’ve seen in a while, covering everything from Hand Treatments from Skintruth professional beauty systems, to the all important products such as Nail Art, Nail Equipment, and so on.

We also found the category navigation slightly disappointing as it failed to cater for the newly qualified technician who might prefer to look for products in a keyword fashion such as ‘Nail Tips’, ‘Glues and Adhesives’, ‘Acrylics’ and ‘Gel’ to name a few. More strength was given to listing by brand which of course would suit the professional doesn’t do the site any favours as many could be put off by the lack of simplicity.

While there were a fair number of brands on display in this category, we did find it slightly disappointing in the way they were displayed. Another thing that disappointed us was the apparent lack of products such as ‘Nail Tips’ which could only really be found by using the search feature, even then it only turned up 3 results, which in our experience wasn’t really doing this site any favours. We compared the site against other competitors who although might not have such a polished site they certainly beat this one for product base.

The term ‘empty shelves don’t sell‘ comes into mind here, for even though it does look on the face of it to be a very comprehensive site, perhaps we reviewed one area of the shop that hasn’t yet developed quite as much as other areas. This shouldn’t put you off though, its a very clean site, and has masses of potential if it works on its weakness. Improvement on product lines of the basic nature which our research has told us is the new starters would surely help this site develop into a market leader as it does still carry a significant level of product, just not in this section.

Beauty Express offer a good clean service and are very transparent when offering contact details and local rate telephone ordering. They seem to have put much thought into what we always believe to be one of the most important pages by even providing a map and simple directions for those wishing to call on them. That always tells us one thing, ‘they have nothing to hide’ and always impresses us. All in all, a very polished site offering a good level of product, service and after sales. One we’d have no hesitation in recommending.
